About Lorraine
Welcome to my world of colour and animals.
I’m mum to Oisin, our gorgeous little boy and Amber our other love, a rescue collie girl from the GalwaySPCA, both amaze and inspire me every day! My interest in all things wildlife began from early childhood.
I have vivid memories of spotting the hares and pheasants darting among the wind bushes in the field across from our house. Going for walks as a child gathering berries and even once catching a glimpse of a Kingfisher by the local river. Taking in all the sounds, sights and smells of the beautiful Armagh countryside.
After pursuing a career in design for many years, it was these memories that sparked my journey as a wildlife & animal artist. Never a truer word than find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.
Galway is home away from home now, with the studio situated in The Burren Nature Sanctuary, Kinvara were there is an abundance of inspiration daily. Some days are spent more walking and enjoying my surroundings, with the odd chat to some of the animals that live there!
My work is a combination of capturing the emotions, feelings and relationships of people, but through the imagery of animals. The tender moments, loving bonds and the importance for human connection with a positive message through colour and no words needed.
